Director and co-founder of CIVIC SQUARE in Birmingham, Imandeep has spent over a decade organising and co-building regenerative civic infrastructure. Her work spans ecological building design, bio-based material retrofit, and locally-rooted approaches to climate resilience.

Founder of Kindred Lab for Transitions, Sara helps leaders and organisations find direction in complexity. With over 15 years working across health, mental health, and ageing, she pioneered futures design at the Danish Design Centre and is a recognised thought leader in mission-oriented innovation.

Copenhagen is often described as one of the world's most liveable cities, and yet, beneath that admired surface lies another city: layered, contested, and full of signals about what's coming next.

The City Scanning is the activity that opens every edition of Future Days Festival. Before exploring the program, we first need to know where we are.

What are the local tensions, the emerging signals, the gap between the image a city projects and what truly lies beneath? It's how we honour the place we're meeting.

This year, the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies co-curates “Beneath the Surface”: small groups dispersed across Copenhagen, scanning for what that postcard version leaves out.

The session is followed by a talk from Nicklas Larsen, who will introduce the “Two Loops” model, the methodology we will use to uncover where Copenhagen stands in its own transition: what is losing strength, and what is beginning to emerge.

A series of activities exploring the intersection of imagination, strategy and global practise:

→ The Constellation: The Future of Collective Problem Solving in a Post-Agentic World:
A participatory futuring experience inspired by stargazing and constellation mapping. Participants will explore nine models of problem-solving for a post-agentic world. From lone oracles making ethical judgments to emergent swarms finding patterns no one designed. Choose the model that resonates with how you think, name the problem you care about, design your star, and watch it appear in a living constellation alongside other brilliant minds.

→ Dialogue: Imagination as strategy
What if imagination was not a creative luxury, but a core strategic capability? This dialogue explores how organizations can embed imagination into the systems, rituals, and decisions that shape growth.

→ Dialogue: Futures & Innovation as a Global Human Network
We will explore why futures and innovation can’t be built from isolated expertise, and why a human-centered global network matters more than ever.
